Wood Stork Foraging Area (USFWS)
Regulated by Fish & Wildlife and the Army Corps, Wetland avoidance, impact minimization, and mitigation measures, as typically required in a permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, are often sufficient to address impacts to a wood stork foraging area. Greater avoidance is required where a colony is present. These were downgraded from endangered to threatened in 2012.
